DDC-CUSCO, JICA & FUTABA Inc. Cooperation

On November 29, 2024, the Ministry of Culture of Peru, through the Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Cusco, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Office in Peru, and FUTABA Inc. signed a specific international technical cooperation agreement with the aim of establishing a system of mutual collaboration to implement the “Pilot Project for HighPrecision 3D Surveying and Analysis for the Conservation and Utilization of Ancient Remains in the National Archaeological Park of Machupicchu (3DSACURA).”

The objective of this project is to obtain high-precision 3D data and to generate outputs from these data, such as topographic plans, record collections, conservation plans, topographic studies in forests and heritage sites, workshop materials, virtual reality (VR) images, maps, and 3D models within the area of the National Archaeological Park of Machupicchu.

Currently, this cooperation is being carried out in a coordinated, cooperative, and collaborative manner, enabling the documentation of the llaqta of Machupicchu and surrounding sectors, as well as areas of the Inca road network within the National Archaeological Park of Machupicchu.
